Dave,

The standard switch harness, with battery, receiver, and charge plugs is considered a "mini" switch harness by Futaba because it has the "mini" plugs. It got named years ago when those connectors first came out.

There are also two other kinds of "mini" switch harnesses. One has only a battery and receiver connector, and the other has a battery connector and a special 2-pin connector for BEC receivers. These two switch harnesses are usually used in R/C cars where the battery pack is removable so that you can replace the dry cells.
