I have a Giant Fly Baby that weighs almost 13 pounds and the kit calls for a .91 4-stroke and it has plenty of power to spare. I use a 14x8 prop and it climbs great and flies fast.
I would imagine that a 1.20 would be plenty for your 12 pound plane. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong..
