I agree your steerman looks great! I have been wanting to add flying wires to mine also. The recommened method in the manual
is to use elastic material available at craft stores. I have not been able to find any that seems to be the right diameter to me.
All the stuff I have found seems to be to small.
Yours look great, what did you use?
