To my knowledge, in order to be a member of an AMA chartered club you must be AMA. unless the local club has a social membership or non-flying membership option. It would then be up to the clubs by-laws to determine if these memberhsips have voting powers. The only requirement for AMA membership for a AMA chartered club directly refers to flying at the sight. As president of our club, we have reviewed these options in the past, for the more senior non flying members...we would rather they did not have the right to vote on issues that effect those who do fly.
