Default RE: Voting members in AMA

I do not think the AMA requires an AMA membership to be a member of club, and we all know that the membership is required to fly at an AMA insured field. So the I beleive the answer to your question would be "No" but again that would depend upon the club. The AMA has thus far, in my personal opinion, been smart enough to leave the clubs to their own government. If they want members of the club to be involved in the politics of such, they can allow it. Why should the AMA delve into the everyday "running" of a group or club? The clubs entire premise as described by the dictionary is "a group of people organized for a common purpose".
SCPREZ is basically lamenting what I have said for years, if you have members who vote but do not fly, they do not usually have the heart and mind of those who do. Why not create a "social" membership without voting rights and priviledges that is basically granted for free just so those individuals can feel a part of the group, but not neccessarily prevent it's course of action?
