NO, he has a CX2, not CX, theres no removable crystals with the 2.4ghz system. Good explanation for those with CX's and not CX2's though, as some newbies might forget the crystals. You must use a connector to short out a plug on the reciever then turn on the TX and RX to bind one to another. I'll look at my instruction booklet when I get home (or if you have yours, LOOK THROUGH IT as it explains the "binding" procedure).
