Will accidentally leaving an electronic ignition power switch on for an extended period of time without the engine running damage the ignition ??

Though this has not happened to me yet, I have on a couple of occassions left my Tx and Rx switched on until their Nicad battery packs were fully discharged. Luckily each time all it needed was a couple of charge /discharge cycles to return the pack to health.
