RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation
Hi Guys. My Mojo's a 40 with a Saito .82 up-front. I love flying this model as it's so "chuckable," and the engine has more that enough power for it. It will hover at a little over half-throttle and will go vertical until the fuel runs-out using less than full throttle. But . . . . I can't get the model to slow-down quite as much as I'd occasionally like to do (for "reversing on the breeze," etc)
The engine's tick-over speed is very slow, and I know that the 14x4W prop isn't helping me with the slow-speed end of the envelope - but I like the way this prop makes the engine sound so leisurely and it seems a perfect match in all other respects, apart from not allowing really slow flight occasionally
I have a brand-new Saito .72 looking for a home and was thinking that this may have enough power to give me all I need at the high-speed/torque end of the envelope, and at the same time maybe it'll allow really slow flight at t'other end (with maybe a 13 x 4 or 12.25 x 3.75 prop?)
Is anyone using a .72 on a Mojo 40? If so:
How's the vertical?
Where's your throttle at the hover?
What prop are you using
Thanks,
Tony
