Default RE: Walkera Dragonfly #36

stevehickey6,

Yes, I've had my share of oopsies...some due to pilot error and some due to the Walkera RX. The Walkera gyro is OK in Normal mode and holds relatively well, but the yaw rate is slow. On the G006 model the left switch is for AVCS / Normal, with Normal being with the switch to the right. I would start by setting your rudder trim to zero, gyro in Normal mode and get the servo horn at 90 degrees to the servo case. Then move the servo mount so the tail slider is a little bit left of center. If the tail slider is exactly in the middle, you'll need too much rudder trim from the TX to get it stable. You should be stable in hover with a minimum of rudder trim. As far as the Revo goes I've got a Futaba 6EXH TX, so I'm only familiar with it's menu. My revo is set for -50% on the up side of the throttle stick and -20% on the downside. My gyro gain is probably about 60%. With these settings the stock gyro holds pretty well...when I punch it with lots of + pitch the tail hardly moves. If I punch it lots of + to lots of - pitch it will yaw left maybe 30 degrees. I haven't found a solution for this and I think it's just due to the mediocre stock gyro.
