I wish I knew more about brushless technology but, I don't think it is possible to have a 2 wire brushless motor unless it is an AC motor. I don't know if the motor would be able to start spinning.
nitro bry - Do you have that motor with only 2 leads or is it a picture of one you're thinking of getting?
There is such a thing as a 2 wire/2 phase brushless DC motor, but not for hobby use as we know it. The cooling fans in computers, and stereo direct drive turntable motors are two examples of brushless two-phase (two-wire) DC motors.
The brushless motor as we know it is really a three phase AC motor (but the DC in a motor's categorization derives from the source power type, ergo it is still called a DC motor). It runs off a 'sort-of' AC (DC being switched on and off between two of the three phases at a time, at a specific frequency) converted from pure DC within the ESC. It needs a wire to feed juice to each phase of the windings. If the motor pictured is indeed brushless, it either has a wire broken off, or has a gross manufacturing flaw. Either way, brushless and brushed components do not mix.
