Pretty funny. Trimming a prop down evenly isn't a problem, though it's usually less efficient than it is at full length.
However, snapping off the tips usually doesn't happen evenly, and you wind up with a prop that vibrates like heck, which is bad for the airframe and espeically the electronics.
Now, if you want fun, try trimming off both blades at the root while in the air. It takes a bit of doing, but if you manage to keep the engine running, the peak RPM is amazing (for a moment, anyway)
