Im still the guy that orginally said I'd ask the safety committe to down your plane......so now that you have looked and made your repairs good for you. If you bent the metal spar I'll bet there is damage to the wing as well.
Anyway welcome to the hobby it can be a great time, or can get kinda lonely down there at the end of the pits.
