I just finished building my first SSE. I'm wondering what the final flying weight should be? Would like to know how much others SSE ended up weighing when complete?
Thanks

Darn... I weighed mine after I finished it and can't remember for the life of me what the exact weight came in at... I do know from several years of experience with the SSE that it will tolerate quite a bit as far as weight is concerned. I'm thinking mine came in at 6 to 6.5 lbs and it still floats in like a trainer.
Also I've had the c.g. on SSE's from the 3.5" back to 5" and it tolerates that well too. Obviously the lighter the better and start at the recommended c.g. and slowly move back as you get used to the plane. All in all... fun plane to goof around with.

Update... I've slapped a 14x4W APC on my SSE with the 82 Saito... pretty good performance. Gonna try a 13x4 on the next trip to the field.
As far as the side force generators... the jury is still out... I think I need to build a couple other sets (play around with shape and overall size). The current SFG's I think are just a touch too big... they grab the plane pretty aggressively when dumped over to knife-edge flight. Fun though.

Update on loganjoel's SSE... Let's just put it this way... R I P [:@]
