Default An HPI truck .28 engine with 2.9hp or OS .32 marine engine with 1.1hp for 36' fiberglass hull?

Hi,

Here are the details of my latest project:

I managed to get hold of one of those China crap tiger shark nitro boats.

I dismantled everything, opened up the ABS plastic hull, reinforced it with wood in order to prevent warping, and plan to use this as a mold to make a fiberglass hull.

Currently still plastering and finishing the ABS mold in order to prepare for fiberglassing.

Boat is 36 inches long.

I plan to use new harwdware, and off course a new engine.

I plan to spend USD 200 on an engine.

A question therefore arises:

Should i go for an HPI Nitro Star K4.6 truck Engine engine, rated at 2.9hp, or should i go with a marine engine like OS .32 which has only 1.1hp. Both cost practically the same. Would the HPI truck engine have more power and drive my boat faster?

If i modify the boat's canopy in order to have sufficient cooling, will this be enough to cool the HPI truck engine?

Or would a marine engine be better, which though having less hp, might have more torque?

I appreciate your comments.

Thanks.
