Default RTV and sealing an engine

I have read about this in the car circles, but in 20 years of flying airplanes have never seen it. Using RTV silicone to seal an engine is the question. I have a Torq .21 in a Duratrax Axis thats 4 or so years old. I think I have an air leak by the retainer screw on the Carb's collar. Whats the procedue for sealing this area of the motor? Any help would be much appreciated.....and telling me to dump the motor for a new one or buggy for that matter is not what I am looking for. Thanks
