RE: Which Radio?
Yeah, this stuff is beginning to get quite pricey if you want all the new and 'safe' modes of operation. I was lucky enough to pick up the DX7 when the price was $100 less than it is now.
A friend in the club has a brand new DX6 (new in the box) that he won at a match one time, an old timer SAM type match. He does not want the DX6. I said I'd buy it from him one of these days, I imagine I can get it for $150 or so because he just wants to get rid of it. I can then put my electrics on that radio and save the DX7 for my fuel planes. 20 model memory goes a long way. And, I don't think I will need 9 channels any time soon, either.
