Default 1/8 MATRIX BUGGY ROOKIE and lessons hard learned

Let me start by saying these forums rule. Last night was a big night for my Matrix. REALLY REALLY FUN! All the break in and patience was starting to pay off. I cant believe the performance in this buggy!!!
1. all of the info on my brakes was great and my brakes are AMAZING NOW! I have even been tuning the bias! ON A DIME!!!
2. My rear main drive shaft was popping out of the rear differential until I caught it. Easy fix but thats what you get for buying an rtr I guess?
3. Leaner and leaner we began to get some serious performance out of the buggy. I know know why people are so excited about this buggy. Rocket ship and I am not even there yet on the tune! Still bogging a little on launch but I am chasing it. Small adjustments so I can track it.
4. Here is where it went bad. 3 tanks in still parking lot cruising and tuning. Buggy coming across the parking lot in front of us. 50-75% throttle and then nothing. STUCK! NO TRANSMITTER RESPONSE! The buggy rocketed by us and straight into a concrete curb, 30mph at least! I thought that was it. End of my buggy. MUCH TO MY SURPRISE!!! I think I just broke an upper A ARM and the bumper. I cant believe the buggy took it! Upon inspection... one of the alkaline AA batteries hopped out of the battery holder in the receiver box! WHAT?!? Never ever heard of that. The batteries weren't even close to bad. THATS IT! NIMH BATTERY PACKS FROM HERE ON IN!!! TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER!
THANKS FOR THE HELP GETTING THE BUGGY TO THIS POINT! I'LL HAVE IT BACK UP AND RUNNING NEXT WEEK!!!
