Greg1, sounds like you had your hands full. For a plane specifically designed for 3-D, a tendency like snapping on the small angular transition into a harrier should not occur. Did it drop a wing when it snapped? I must admit that I had wondered about tip stalling when I saw the wing plan form.
It sounds to me to have been incredibly pitch sensitive. Did you try moving the CofG forward? I currently fly a PA Electric Shock with 45 degrees of movement on all control surfaces and that never snaps unless I want it to.
