RE: New Version of Honey Bee King
Mine was rubbing on the boom where the belt enters the boom because things were off. I got 'er fixed and everything is fine. What I did was re-drilled the main shaft and raised the pulley 1/32 of an inch. NOW the belt is in a straight line from the pulley to the guide rollers and into the tube. Before, the belt was at a downward angle going from the pulley to the tail boom. NOW it's straight across. I did that because I didn't like the downward angle of the belt and from an engineering standpoint...a straight line will cause less problems and less stress on the guide rollers. It's a modification to improve performance of the belt system and in my opinion...needed, and worked fine. You guys may want to look at the belt path from the pulley into the tube, you'll see what I'm talking about.
Re-Post because someone is NOT reading my posts. You have to remove the bottom section and the complete rotor head to do this repair/mod. Is the above clear to you guys as to how to make this mod or do I need more detail? I's pretty straight forward. Remove the main rotor shaft re drill the holes for the pulley pin 180 out from the other holes and above from the other holes to raise the pully. DONT RAISE IT TOO MUCH OR NOT ENOUGH...it'll cause you major headaches.
