if that heli is tail motor driven, you'll need to turn up the proportional pot. You say the heli is going to the left, when you say the left, do you mean the nose or the tail? If it's the nose you need to speed up your tail rotor, and if it is the tail, you need to slow it down.

The correct compensation if the tail is going to the left is left stick, if the nose is going to the left, then it is right stick.
