Default RE: Twist 60 info needed----NOW!

Hi.............I don't do a lot of 3D, more sport flying than anything else. Last night I could hold a hover at about 1/2 throttle for about 8-10 seconds before falling off. Let me admit that it is me & not the plane. If you are in to 3D, this bird should be a no brainer. It also will land at a snails pace if you want it to. The last few flights last night were a series of touch & go's with touching down the tail wheel with the mains about six inches above the grass.

Yes, I have the Twist 40 with a OS 50 SX. It is a great plane, but I think that the sixty size is a better plane for 3D.

One word of caution.......There is a weak spot at the bulkhead where the wing dowels go in. I would beef up this area with epoxy & pine square material unless you land perfect every time. (Ya right) Also I beefed up the inside of the landing gear area....Inside the fuse where the blind T-Nuts are located.

There are a lot of comments on just where to set the CG. I like mine just where it is. (5 1/4) Please note that I squeezed a 17 oz tank up front! At full fuel, it will still hover. Maybe not as good as CG moved further back................You will just have to do your own thing
