Default RE: The Australian bbq and beers

Hey guys, well Mezd is pretty much a combination of my first and last names.

I am 32 ( which means i grew up in the TOPGUN era -[8D] )but learned to fly when i was about 10 on by dads glow plane and my grandfathers gliders. Now when i said learned to 'fly' thats it, i dont remember ever taking off or landing!!!
However we stopped flying a short time after that because of all the sound restrictions etc they imposed on the planes and where you could fly them!!

About 4 years ago i noticed somewhere that they were starting to make electric planes that were quite affordable and started talking to my mates about them.

About 12 months ago i screwed up my back, couldnt work for about 6 months and ended up having surgery.
To help with the boredom my dad brought up a small wing under balsa plane that i started building when we used to fly. On seeing it again i thought, that looks like a P51 and started re working and finishing it off.... which sparked my interest again.

I then found PARKZONE and talked one of my mates into buying the P51 which was the only one out at the time, then went to buy mine.... the same day the FW190 came into stock - brought that instead!! I actually brought a second hand Aerobird Extreme to wet my feet again aswell.

I also thought helicopters looked interesting and i was bored so I "borrowed" a spare ZAP400 electric heli my dad had just brough for parts..... I have managed to hover it once!!!
So last week i lashed out and brought a Twister Bell 47 Medevac so i can practice some more at home!!

And thats me and my currant planes - although i can pretty much tell you that there will be a Stryker or a Spitfire in the Hangar within the next few weeks!!
