Default RE: Found Sailboat, any thoughts of make?

I agree, it is really impressive, even the pictures don't do it justice. It does have ballast, you can see it in the first picture, the whole keel is made of metal (lead?) and bolted on. There is a millimeter gap between the weignt and the hull, you can see it in the pic, looks like ther are washers in between.

I will measure it and post later.

It has an oval hole for the mast, and fit and finish is amazing. I would really love to get/make a mast and sail and rig it, I have been looking for an R/C boat for a while, so now I have one !. I have been enjoying R/C since I was a kid in the early 70s, remember escapment systems with a rubber band and a single button on the transmitter (still have it !!) Mostly planes, cars and helis.

From my understanding, my neighbor was from Germany (thick accent) and was a machinist, woodworker and sailor. We live on on the shore of Lake Ontario in Rochester, NY - Perfect for big boats. In the backyard is a "pond" - actually 250 acres in size averaging 7' deep. Great for Models, etc.
