It looks like you built a box like mount that slides in the fuselage. I would think that will be stronger than my situation. Since mine is an ARF it would be difficult to do the same. If for some reaon mine doesn't hold up I'll adapt your idea somehow. As for the fuel tank I just slid mine back closer to the C/G. I had to do some modification but it fits without infringing the cockpit area. If I knew how to attach a pic I'd show you how mine worked out. Maybe I'll learn how.
