Default RE: Simple prop question-------- ( Rotation)

Hi Dan,

What fan was this motor driving originally?

The fan motors I mean turn the large fan in front of the radiator, this one looks more like it was used to power the blower inside the car's heating system.

BUT, I was under the impression you were going to build a larger hull?

Like Piperchuck already said, this combo, motor, battery, etc seems awfully heavy for only 24".

I'd go for a 700'isch motor on 8 -12 cells to keep the boat light. (even a 600 size motor might work, if you keep the boat light enough, it will work beautifully when the 600 motor is geared down with a belt drive, allowing for a bigger prop, which is more efficient)

For a 700/600 motor you'll need a bigger ESC, specially if you want to 'cruise'and not go flat out all the time, the ESC must be able to handle the partial load situations.

Regards, Jan.
