Default RE: Smartch 10146 with SMT 15CX Engine Review! Have a look!

.... well it just looks like you are missing the clutch shoes and spring. that random gap is where the shoes shuld go. if you push the bell all the way back, does it remove that gap? there should be a little tiny space you can see between the fly wheel and bell.

once you get the clutch shoes and spring assemble it. also make sure (duh) you have both clutch bearings.

if you do have the shoes, and the bell housing will not go past those pins, it doesnt match up.
dont worry, you can easily change the parts for a different brand clutch bell, fly wheel, and shoes for about $30 or $15 english currency. i would go with hpi parts considering that is a direct match for that engine.

make sure that you count the teeth on the bell to make sure it is in the same ratio from first to second gear

like for example
25t 1 gear pinion stock
35t 2 gear pinion stock. so you would want something that one gear has ten less teeth than the other. it would match up just fine if you go up and down a few teeth . so you could have (as example) 27-37 or 24-34 or 23-33 ect ect.

keep in mind if you do get a new clutch setup, the more teeth you have on the pinion the faster you will go! just make sure that it is the same first to second gear ratio.
