I do believe that helped having an experienced flyer there to help me trim the copter. One thing I have found and this goes against the grain of a newbie do not flounder in the prop wash, get the model up much more stability about 3 feet off the ground.
I have about 45 minutes on the model after a few more flights in the garage, thank goodness for the training wheels makes it a lot less pressured when flying the model. I wish the battery pack lasted longer.....
