Is that because they come stock w/ the XL5?! Or you just meant you don't need them??

You don't need bearings for the transmission. The only bearings you need are for the 4 wheels and if you want, the steering bellcrank. But yeah get RPM bearing carriers and then use the 5x11 bearings in them. My original 5x8 bearings fell apart too, but only after several months of abuse.
