It's common knowledge that 5x8mm bearings in the stock carriers will quickly come apart from just regular use. They are too undersized for the application. You need to switch to RPM carriers, or the equivalent, which use 5x11mm bearings. This is probably the #1 most recommended upgrade on a Rustler. Incidentally, the new VXL version of the Rusty has this upgrade stock now too.
