I tried the recovery pads and they do make a difference. The bow rides higher in the corners and I don't see any negative effects. I will leave them on for a while to test in different conditions. Also I noticed that the SuperVee motor doesn't have that high-pitched wine (actually very quiet) in the outboard that is has in the SuperVee. I also had my doubts about the water pickup in the cavitation plate as it is relying on prop wash to get its water but it works very well. As soon as the prop starts to turn water comes out the outlet and the boat hasn’t even planned off yet. Still learning.[8D]
