Default Dual Conversion

I have a Futaba 7C Radio, I currently use the New 168 RX in my models. On channel 13. I have acquired 2
older Stick planes One a .60 size and one a .25 size. I know that I have to have a low band neg. shift RX
but can I use a single conversion RX or do I have to stick with a dual? Also can you explain the Diff between
single and dual conversion.

This is the RX I use in all my current planes.

I was thinking about something like this for my sticks

I am not trying to be cheap but I don't want to spend 50+ on RX for planes
that I am not even sure how good they fly.
