-----------DOES TURPENTINE (vegetal) IN DIESEL No2 IMPROVE COMBUSTION?---------
From Petroleum Science and Technology - 2005 :
"Environmentally friendly, biobased fuel additives become more important when environmental concerns all around the world are considered. In this study, sulfate turpentine is investigated as a candidate diesel fuel additive. Engine performance tests were conducted on a 53 kW, 4000 rpm Peugeot XD 3P 157 type diesel engine for 3:97 turpentine and No:2 diesel fuel blend and similar results to No:2 diesel fuel were obtained. Significant reduction in exhaust emissions were observed as a result of using turpentine and No:2 diesel fuel blend"
Interesting the positive effect of only 3% of turpentine on combustion of diesel fuel.
NOTE "sulphate" turpentine is the basically the common vegetal turpentine used by centuries from painters.
DO NOT CONFOUND WITH TURPENTINE "SUBSTITUTES"!
Ugo, this is your assertion and there are not facts..
How i knew.. read here your text Peugeot XD 3P 157 type diesel engine, XD 3P 157 do not exist since i am Peugeot car mechanic.
Significant reduction in exhaust emissions were observed as a result of using turpentine and No:2 diesel fuel blend
There are your assertion again, see under these Peugeot cars with HDI engine, there are the small tank be side of the fuel tank. This tank are there additiv fluid to add the fluid in autodiesel while the tank are tanked. It is to improve combustion to prevent problem with particle filtre inside the exhaust installation. The additiv fluid can not be bought by car owner for "Do-it-self" use and will be added by car mechanics in Peugeot work shop and update the additiv program in the car for each 80 000 km service.
Why can you not try self who you are afraid to damage your own model diesel engines with unknown fuelblend instead we spend time to test fuels and worn out our own model engines and add the tested fuel here for you????
Better to fly out with the traditional fuel we know are reliable since it is summer now.
