Default RE: Evolution 26GT...... HELP!

ORIGINAL: JPal101

I have a Evo 26GT, it is my first gas engine and need some advise. I can only get 7900 with a prozinger 18X6 wood. The engine has 1 gallon of gas run through it, my needles are set at the factory setting as it says in the instructions. I just switched to Amzoil 100/1 but mixed it at about 80/1. I tried leaning it out today but the engine did not run as well so I returned the needles back to the previous settings. Am I missing something?

What you are missing is the deceptive means that Evolution sells its engines. This engine does not come near making 3.8 HP as is posted on the Horizon website. You can't turn a 18x8 prop because it does not make enough power to. I called Horizon before i bought mine and was told the stats were correct. After i could'nt get it to make any power, i called and they told me the stats were with a tuned pipe. Something they omitted from the first call. After waiting for the pipe on back order i finally get it. Put it together and the engine won't run. Seems to be a propblem with the electronic ignition. Mind you i don't have 2 hours runtime on this engine. I look up the ignition system on horizon site and $239.00 just for the ignition!!!!!! I only paid $399.00 for the whole engine.
This thing has been a POS from the beginning and i have been lied to and ripped off. I asked for a refund and guess what, they said NO!! I am now sending the POS to them to see how good the warranty is. The ignition on this engine has been changed 3 times in two years as per the Horizon website.

i am fixing to file a complaint with the Illinois State attorney General, Better business bureu, and any one else i can for deceptive business practices. Since they used the mail, i am also filing a complaint with the Postmaster General.
