JR radios are nice also but I'll let the JR guys recommend which model is best.
Use the same methodology as badazzbusa used in the previous post. Look at the JR line up and purchase the best you can afford. The 12X, 10X are top of the line but very few people can use all of its features and the price sets them outside of the price range for most of us. The 9303 and the new X9303 2.4 are the best balance in price and features. It has most of the features of the most expensive radios in a more economical package. The X9303 2.4 has spektrum technology built right in. Then you have the 8103, the 7202 with its synthetized version, which means that you can select any frequency (depending on your country) on on the radio itself. Then we have 6102. I just visited this site:[link]http://jrradios.com/[/link] and aparently the 8103 is discontinued, what a shame it was a great radio.
Make sure that you purchase a helicopter version of any radio that you select. The switches and knobs are placed in different optimized to the helicopter "style" of flying.
