Assuming you are talking about Nimh packs, the very best batteries would be matched IB4200s or the equivalnet EP packs. Both of these are noticeably better than a Tenergy pack and any unmatched, untested pack from a vendor who just slaps cells together and calls them a pack.
Both of them will be noticeably more expensive also.
The title of NitroNuisance's thread is "Dean's plugs? Best batteries?", not cheapest batteries. With respect to "Best batteries?" and Nimh I answered his question.
The matched packs I noted maybe be somewhat more expensive, but not as much as many people would think.
