RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation
Cody,
You should be happy with your prop change. I have found a 12.25x3.75 to be the best prop for the evolution .46. Your OS should have more power, so I would think a 12.25x3.75 APC would work very well. Repairs look good.
Jody,
I have to think with a PNP that the CG should be set up towards the front of the range for you. I would definitely check it however. If nothing else, just do a quick finger balance check and make sure the plane is inverted when you do it. I would stat at about 4.5” for CG, and move it back after you figure out all it’s characteristics.
Wizzbang,
To the best of my recollection, this is what I do for an inverted flat spin.
Take it up nice and high and and kill the throttle with full down elevator (right stick all the way up), and full left rudder (left stick to the left). This will put it into a spin. I then add left aileron (maybe 1/3) and this helps flatten it out. I then add throttle (roughly ½ on an O.S. .61) this slows the decent to next to nothing. You can actually make it ascend with enough throttle.
Play with the amount of rudder and aileron until you get it to spin nice and flat and slow. I will dedicate a whole flight to flat spins. Just keep doing them over and over till I run out of fuel. A couple of flight dedicate to them, and you will have it down.
