People use the TB02 for rallying, and in fact if you were looking for a good rally car I would recommend the TB02. It is enclosed, you can make/buy a cover for the electrics and it will out-perform any TT01.

Rally tyres probably won't wear down any quicker on asphalt than offroad, but on road you will have less grip. The Tamiya rally block tyres are excellent on and off road.

Get the TB02, you can't go wrong
