Twice I had to replace the Fuses due to bad covering, and I didn't feel like re-covering it from scratch. Plus I've been noticing that they are becoming more skimpy on the glue.
When you say bad covering, what exactly is bad about it? I know it's frustrating to see wrinkled covering on a brand new plane but it's not the end of the world. I just got a brand new Great Planes Venus .40. Some of the Monokote was wrinkled so bad that I was almost ready to pack it back up and return it. I sat down with the covering iron and heat gun though, took my time and now the covering looks as good or maybe even better than I could do myself. With the climate changes these things go through on their trip form Asia to the US, storage, etc., it's amazing any covering stays on at all. I do agree that there is room for improvement though.
I also don't feel ARF's are always glued well. I've had glue joints pop loose and firewalls come out.
Sometimes I get frustrated but I wonder if I'm just Getting spoiled. Think about it, somebody is assembling and covering an airplane then shipping it half way around the world and I can buy it dirt cheap, sometimes for less than $100. I may have to do a little work now and then. I'm definitely not excusing poor quality control though.
