The paint scheme looks fine and the wing gap is inconsequential. More cosmetic than anything else. If you try to bend 4-40 rods, in tight bends especially, they'll snap. Brass block? Got a link? Regular solder or threaded clevis's with jam nots are fine. Brass block? May be a terminology thing.
