Default World Models GS Spit Conversion - Flight Test

Just thought I'd pass on some data from my recent test flight of my World Models giant scale Spitfire.

Motor: Axi 5330-18
Controller: Jeti - 90 amp
Battery: 10s 5000 mah (two 5s 5000's in series)
Prop: APC-E 17x12

Static RPM: 7500
Static Amp Draw: 63.5 amps (67.5 amps without spinner)

(Pretty similar to what MotoCalc generated, btw)

Flight test:

Plane took off at slightly over 1/2 throttle - pitch sensitive (combination slightly rearward CG and too much elevator throw), but in all other regimes a great performer. As it was a test flight, mainly flew at just less than half throttle for the five minute flight. Did go to full throttle for about, oh, five seconds and it scared the **** outta me, it accelerated like a rocket (it was already moving pretty good clip at half throttle), decided that with pitch sensitve, half throttle was a bit more prudent. Very much a floater on landing (flaps help).

I'll update this as I get more flights if folks are interested.

Take care.

Larry
