Default RE: Has anyone put a VPP on a E-Flite Tribute 3d?

Hi Brian.

First the 370 is to small for the Tribute fly weight 17-19 oz, the 370 can handel 7-14 oz for 3D. You need a Park 400 ( 10oz - 20oz ), or a Park 450 ( 15–25 oz ) or the Park 480 ( 20–30 oz ) to have enogh power for 3D. Even if you add any of this motors and change the shaft for the 370 4mm Hollow Shaft it will still whont work since the Showstopper Precision Variable Pitch Prop System is engineered for use on 3D models weighing up to 12 ounces ready to fly (including VPP system). So as you can see it will not work with the plane. I do not know of other sistems, but with the 370 or the E-flite line will not. Get your self a foamy or build your self one then you can use the 370 hollow shaft with a 20 to 25 amp ESC and a smaller Lipo ( 730 - 910 TP ) and a servo for the pitch with at least 17oz of torque. Any way keep it under the 12oz ( 9 oz will be great). Hope this help pointing you to the right direction. Feel free to ask any other question. Good luck.
