Sorry JP44 but I have to disagree with your reply....... not totally, I do agree that navigator is ready to move up to a more involved heli, but he can also do some mods to the CX2 that would improve its flight abilitys and reduce and eliminate some of the flaws that cause its limitations.

Sure you can do the upgrades, but it is still a CX2, with only limited improvement. Why upgrade a Hyundi to look like a Lexus when it still drives like a Hyundi, and you really want a Lexus.
Just for pleasure.......... my hyundi styled Lexus is alot of fun to fly and costs so little to fix and keep flying that it definately is a good thing to upgrade. My TREX and Blades cost twice as much to fix when I stuff them. Aggresive flying with a coaxial heli is more fun than it sounds like. I stuffed mine into a bush up camping and only broke one lower blade, it was fixed and flying within 5 mins and finished out 2 batterys with it.
I will agree that if you are looking for more aggresive style flying then yes........go with a CCPM heli with a belt driven tail or shaft driven tail rotor. But also be aware that higher head speeds and less forgiveness isn't what everyone wants. I enjoy the hobby enough to appreciate all styles of flying and with different types of helis. If you are finding yourself getting bored with what you are flying, then yes......upgrading a little makes a huge difference, just stick with the tried and true upgrades and don't get suckered by the smoke and mirrors that some try to sell you.
navigator........did you break in those Vortex motors before you installed them? Or did they just not even work for you at all. I have heard mixed reviews and some loved them......some hated them. I wopuld love to hear how many did a break in on those before install and if it helped or not. My stock ones are close to giving up the ghost (down to 6 min flight on full battery) so if they really aren't what one expects then I will go with the Extreme Motors from boomtown hobbies
