RE: Split Elevator Mixing
skyblue:
I have the 40 and 60 UCD, the 60 is a much better airframe, but the 40 is good IMHO. Take extreem care in getting your mechanical setup correct, right out of the box. Each elevator half must throw identical with the other, or the plane will not fly nearly as well as it can. Mine can do great elevators and high alpha without a lot of wagging. At first the 40 was a dog in my view, until I looked at the elevator travel after reading a related article on same. It took me several days to get things working correctly mechanically after fighting ATV and sub trim. After getting it right mechanically, it flys as intended. With much care, the 60 flys very well out of the box. Several guys in the club have the same setups, but pay no attention to the details, correct CG, ballance, throws, etc. and wonder why mine flys so much better. They assume I am just a better pilot, not!!. ENJOY
