It doesn't take much to slow this already slow landing airplane. You will need to mix or manually feed in down elevator, as the plane will tend to pitch up when flaperons are deployed. This plane really doesn't need it, but it is still fun to play around with.
Ummmmm .... Flapperons in the down position will require up elevator. Flapperons in the up position(Spoilerons) will require down elevator. You want to have fun with them? Put them on a 3 position switch. Just as you enter a loop, hit the switch up (spoilers) and see just how tight it will do it. Or, put them on a pot (depends on your radio) and dial in some flap for takeoff. About 25% will have you off the ground in half the distance than without them. Got a short runway? Put them at about 75% down and slow almost to a stop. Just remember that the more you have them deployed, the less effective the ailerons are.
Sorry but wrong, flaperons down create more lift so down elevator will be required to compensate, spoilers create less lift so require up elevator to compensate.
On the four star and most other planes, this is a correct statement. However, I have found one or two planes where up elevator is required. Weird. It must be a balance or thrust line thing. One example of this is the Typoon 3d. Don't ask me why.
