I don't think that cyclon is a good choice if it needs a 14" prop, i am using a 11x5 and it's already close to the ground on take off and landing. Wouldn't go past 12"
I made a short vid using a 10x5E xoar, i was getting cutoffs on the 11" and i thought it was too much for the motor, turns out it was a bad motor lead connection (i think, haven't flown since i re did them) Anyway it's a great plane and will be a top performer if i can sort the power system issues i was having.
Phoenix 35
kontronik maxi dancer (66 grams)
vislero 1300 mah 20C 3 cell (110 grams)
bluebird 371's all around
7P rx
11x5 xoar (switched to 10x5 in the vid, much better power on 11x5)
Auw; unknown, guessing sub 26oz
Note the cutoffs were making me very very nervous. Hope you like the running comentary by my friend "Jello"

Never let short landing gear stop you from trying different power systems! That's what they make after market landing gear for. If it wasn't for longer carbon gear, you wouldn't be able to convert a lot of planes to electric! Either that or lots of handlaunching and hover recoverys.

A nice 13" 3 blade Vario Prop would be the sweet deal on the nose of this bird. How scale would that look? Then you can dial in your desired pitch. Cool... Had to change the LG on my latest project anyway, too short glow gear. Need to swing a larger prop. I just got the Cyclon Elite 24 for the Z3D project and it does swing massive props on low cell counts. Only drawback is the 1 hr of flight time required lube maintenance. Don't tell you that in the ads, you find this out after you've read the instructions. [:-]Otherwise the Cyclons magnets are incredible. Don't get any metal near them, it will attach and not want to come off. Too bad they have to be maintained with too much frequency otherwise they would kill performance wise vs. other motors. Power to weight is nuts! I hear the smaller outrunners are super performers too. Keep em' flyin'!
