The base of the carb can't deform, it's aluminum...It couldn't get that hot anyway, it's on a block of phenolic... The deformation of the phenolic block under the carb is coused by the flat rubber sheet used for a seal, and overtightening of the 4 bolts that hold it to the case..A few strokes on a flat surface with a piece of 180 sandpaper, on both sides of the block, will cure the warp...A thin layer of Permatex Ultra Copper around the edge of the block, not on the rubber, will keep it sealed...And Don't be a gorilla with the allen wrench on the bolts...The studs are aluminum, use care removing them from the block to flatten it....RC......
