Default Balancing Mejzlik Props?

OK... I finally came out of the stone age. I was trying to stick with wood, but I got a Mej 30x12 for my new WH Extra and I fell in love. Now I also have a 32x10 as a back-up and a 28x10 for my Panzl.

1 was spot on balance out of the box (30x12)
1 needed a slight hub balancing (28x10)
1 needs a slight hub balancing and a slight span balance (32x10)

All in all... the best balanced props I've ever had.

I balanced the hubs using the DOD method, works great.

I temp balanced the span of the 32x10 with a small piece of scotch tape so I could do the hub balance. Now, how to I balance the span permanantly?
-Can I leave the tape on the tip?
-Should I use varnish? (what kind?)
-Any better ideas?

I REALLY don't want to sand this beautiful prop!!!

Thanks,
me
