Good question. It definately makes the wing fit perfect everytime. Pretty much assures the correct incidence as well in a jig built plane. They also give you a nice place to locate switches and wiring. You'll see that when it gets there. I've come to like them quite a bit.

User tip about the wing pockets. The balsa used to make the inside of the pockets can be pretty soft. Has to be to make that tight wrap at the front. This seems to be across the board with other brands that use pockets as well. I like to go all around the balsa of the wing pockets with a quick squirt of thin CA to harden it up a little. Nothing heavy or serious, just a fast line of thin ca all the way around the middle of the balsa. I do this the same time I go over the joints everywhere else. Just something I do with every arf from any maker.

You will definately like the plane!!
