"The Academy has recommended that 92 dBA measured at 3 meters from the aircraft, downwind from the right, normally the exhaust side, of the engine. The meter should be in line with the cylinder head at a height of approximately one foot and held in a position 70 degrees from the downwind line. The measurement, for consistency, should be performed over a hard surface."
Can you give the link to that reference. I did a search on the AMA site and didn't find a specific. Noise is becoming an issue at our club field and if AMA is lowering the limit from 96 to 92 I'd like to be able to show it to our club at the next meeting.
