RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
I was refering to my troubles with a Evolution 58 as much as i love the awsome power of that one and i do love the way it runs when it runs right but the mysterious way the thing decides to run lean still troubles me. Ive enjoyed many uneventful flights with that motor A real power house but trusting it will never happen. Its very hard to regain trust in a motor. Im going to repait the Cap that it flew in last and the Ultimate it flew in last. The cap will get this engine and ill redo all the fuel sytem and run it as ritch as I can stand to and if by some act of god it survives It mat get a new plane but till then its going in a crash victom and flown till submission. The repaired Ultimate will get a new motor possably A DL? My Marzo rebuilt Ultimate will continue to enjoy the DA still the most trusted engine I own But the clock is ticking on this new 53 and she sure has won a few points with me.
as a mechanic by trade I know full well there are no 2 engines that will run exactly the same. however close they are they all have there own way of running and that changes over time. My Da was a 4 flip with choke on and 4 flips with choke of every time I run it unless she is still hot this year its been 5 and 5 almost willing to turn the low end screw out a smidge and with the hotter weather we are having that might be a plan. But she runs smooth and it hasnt busted a plane that wasnt my fault. over 200 hours on an edge and 86 on an ultimate says a bit to me about trust. I look forward to the 100 hour mark on the SU-26 maybe by then ill know how to knife edge spin that thing on demand.
